In both my professional and educational career, I have had the opportunity to create basic letters, memoranda, news releases, newsletters, speeches, 10-page papers, in-depth manufacturing analyses, financial results, ISO audit findings, blogs, poetry, stories, websites, product listings, and edit, rewrite, and create for others.
I know how to use semicolons, colons, and quote marks, along with basic punctuation. I know how to create sentences and when to use a coordinating conjunction between them. I often use dashes for emphasis and hyphenated modifiers. I also know that an adverb is never hyphenated. I was graduated from Regis University in 2000 with an MBA. I also hold a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to attaining those goals, I completed two years at Jamestown Business College and was graduated with an A.O.S. in Secretarial Studies. It is there that I learned to type like a "demon." I have earned additional credits and attended countless seminars on many different topics. While in corporate America, I was a certified ISO14001 auditor. My main career focus was manufacturing where I worked in strategic planning, marketing, ordinance, exports, finance, and accounting. As an ISO auditor, I submitted findings and recommendations for a large manufacturing facility; the audits, sometimes, started in the basement and concluded on the roof. Senior management often requested that I complete a walk-through at the various plants to ensure compliance prior to the official audits. I also have experience in public education, institutes of higher education, banking, healthcare, dentistry, and long-term nursing facilities. Given my experience, I have a deep, broad understanding of organizational behaviors, data collection, and decision making. My studies include business, finance, accounting, writing, economics, office studies, politics, government, philosophy, poverty, English, literature, East Asian history, and globalization. In addition, I am technologically proficient. I began working on computers in 1981. The very first Apple Mac desktop computer --loaded with MacWrite & MacPaint -- was placed on my desk. My boss told me to teach everyone to use it! Since then, I have taught many; resurrected dead computers; and cleaned many a hard drive. Beyond the Mac software, I learned to operate VisiCalc, Wang, IBM, Lotus SmartSuite, WYSIWYG, and Microsoft's many families of products. While honing my software skills, I worked on mainframes too numerous to list. In addition, I maintained two college computer labs and purchased many computers for companies for which I worked. I have held positions from secretary to operations accountant and business owner. While attending college, I advertised myself as "Scribe" and typed correspondence for the public and papers for students. For an oil industry client, I typed legal documents. .
